Hamburger America, From a Burger Documentarian, Opens in the Village

George Motz, a filmmaker and hamburger expert, has opened his first restaurant in SoHo called Hamburger America, named after his 2004 documentary film
The restaurant serves flattened fried onion burgers, classic smashburgers, fries, sandwiches, flavored milks, and Miller High Life. It will also host guest hamburger makers from around the country.
Anna Castellani, who previously ran Foragers Market, has opened a Mediterranean restaurant in the original location featuring dishes from the Eastern Mediterranean like smoked eggplant carpaccio and tahini fish kebabs. [ more ]
